Useful tools for AJAX, Javascript, Html, Css debugging

Posted by lubosp on June 5, 2006

Here are some useful tools for AJAX, Javascript, Html, Css debugging:

Here is my favorite list for Firefox:

  • DOM Inspector: – DOM Inspector is a tool that can be used to inspect and edit the live DOM of any web document or XUL application.
  • Firebug: – FireBug lets you explore the far corners of the DOM by keyboard or mouse. All of the tools you need to poke, prod, and monitor your JavaScript, CSS, HTML and Ajax are brought together into one seamless experience, including a debugger, error console, command line, and a variety of fun inspectors.
  • Venkman Javascript Debugger: – the best Javascript debugger; Venkman is the JavaScript debugger for Mozilla based browsers, such as Mozilla 1.x, Netscape 7.x, and Phoenix/Firebird.
  • Web Developer Extension: – The Web Developer extension adds a menu and a toolbar to the browser with various web developer tools
  • JavaScript Shell: – Features: autocompletion of property names with Tab, multiline input with Shift+Enter, input history with (Ctrl+) Up/Down, Math, help Values and functions: ans, print(string), props(object), blink(node), clear(), load(scriptURL), scope(object)

Good article on AJAX on Sun Java http://java.sun.c…

Good article on AJAX on Sun Java Looks like Sun is embracing AJAX and Javascript.

I still wish, that AJAX is build into higher leve components (like Tapestry components), so I do not have to worry about writing and maintaining AJAX javascript code.
