Ant (starting with version 1.54) doesn’t come with optional tasks

Posted by lubosp on January 10, 2005

Ant (starting with version 1.54) doesn’t come with optional.jar file for optional tasks. It instead comes with a set of optional tasks ANT_HOME/lib/ant-….

Unfortunatelly some of the optional tasks are dependent on other jars, which are not part of the distrribution, and this fact is very poorly documented. You have to dig deep in optional task documentation to find out, or just figure it out 8-(.

What we need so far is:

  • junit task – copy junit.jar to ANT_HOME/lib
  • junitreport task – copy xalan.jar, xsltc.jar (get from Xalan site) to ANT_HOME/lib
